Statement of Faith

We believe;

  • In the Godhead, consisting of the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit and that the three are one [Matthew 28:18-19; John 14:15-18; Genesis 1:26; Colossians 1:19].
  • That sin came into the world through one man, Adam and death a result of sin; and both sin and death spread to all humanity, Adam's descendants [Romans 5:12-19];
  • But God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die as a sinless sacrifice and substitute for the sins of humanity. He was raised to life from the dead for the righteousness and eternal life of all who believe in him [John 1:29; Romans 4:25].

Statement of Faith (ctd)

  • That salvation of mankind from eternal judgment cannot be obtained through any other means except through faith in Jesus Christ [Acts 4:12-14; John 14:6].
  • That there is heaven, a place of eternal life, where Jesus has prepared mansions for those who believe in him [John 14:1-4; Revelation 21:9-25; Matthew 25:46] and hell, a place of eternal punishment for all those who do not believe in the truth of Jesus Christ [Matthew 25:46].
  • That salvation is freely given to us by God and we obtain it by faith. Rewards at judgment, however will be based on our works. After salvation, we therefore make it our aim to strive to diligently do the works of God that are revealed to us so that we may obtain a better resurrection [Ephesians 2:8-10; Matthew 16:27; Romans 2:6; Revelation 22:12; Hebrews 11:32-35; Matthew 6:1-4; 19-21; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27].
  • In the change that occurs in our lives, with our participation, from the time we receive salvation. If we do not die immediately after salvation, we should cooperate with the Holy Spirit and the scriptures to experience a noticeable change in our testimony and character [2 Peter 1:4-11; Ephesians 4:17-32].
  • In the gifts of the Holy Spirit and fruit thereof; and that these were designed by God to be part of a believer's walk on earth [1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Romans 12:3-8; Galatians 5:22-25].
  • That there are different levels of spiritual maturity (different believers being at different levels) and we are all called to grow to the highest level possible; as we learn to grow in the knowledge of Christ, His word, The Holy Spirit, spiritual warfare, obedience, humility, love, sacrifice, faith, obedience to the calling, and more other spiritual qualities [Hebrews 5:13 - 6:8; 1 Corinthians 3:1-3; 1 Peter 2:1-3].
  • That there are various denominations or ministries with different mandates but the same lord (Christ) and unity is possible as we all mature and learn to see Christ in others more clearly [1 Corinthians 12:5; Ephesians 4:11-16].
  • That as we look forward to the coming of our Lord Jesus, we should make sure our hearts are not overburdened with the self-indulgence, drunkenness and anxieties of the life of this world lest the day of the Lord comes upon us as a trap. We should instead pray that we may be strong enough and counted worthy to escape these things and be able to stand before Jesus Christ at his glorious appearing [Luke 21:34-36]
  • The approach to Christian discipline is, first, and especially, that of grace, mercy, kindness and intercession to those who err, and admonishing them with patience, knowing that we are all susceptible to falling, this having been demonstrated at the beginning when Peter, the main founding apostle denied Christ but was restored and still entrusted with authority by the grace of Jesus Christ our Lord. In every matter, therefore, in order to arrive at a way forward, we shall first seek to establish the Lord's opinion about that person and not merely focusing on the matters arising [Romans 9:10-18; Romans 8:33-34; Proverbs 24:16; Matthew 26:69-75; Luke 22:31-32].
  • Wedding is not a New Testament requirement for righteousness and it is a burden that need not be imposed on believers who wish to get married [no scripture shows otherwise]. Marriage is between man and woman not otherwise [Genesis 2:24; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10].
